Information

Dubquake is a rhythm and culture festival that will become an annual anticipated event in Los Angeles. The foundation is Dub , the bass heavy heartbeat of Jamaica that has reverberated all over the world and influenced so many styles of music. Dubquake will be presenting originators in reggae, as well as the latest sounds from “the loudest island in the world”.

About Dub Club:

Dubquake is an outgrowth of LAs popular weekly Dub Club, held every Wednesday at The Echoplex in Echo Park. The club, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a sold out show, has been called “perhaps the happiest club in Los Angeles” by the LA Weekly. Started out of a love for roots reggae music, which was underrepresented in LAs nightlife, Dub Club has become known far and wide as one of the premier reggae spots anywhere on the globe. A long list of reggae legends have performed at the club, including many artists from the 70s and 80s era of reggae who had never performed in Los Angeles before. Dub Club is known for promoting music with a positive cultural message, and avoiding songs and performers with overly violent, obscene or homophobic lyrics. The diverse crowd at Dub Club is a testament to the broad appeal of reggae music, and is also a reflection of the city itself.
